Meanwhile, BJP's winning candidate from the Bijwasan assembly seat, Kailash Gehlot said, "This is the victory of the people of Delhi and Prime Minister Modi. Citing examples of BJP-led governance in states where the NDA is in power, PM Modi pointed out the law and order challenges Uttar Pradesh faced before the BJP government took charge, particularly concerning women's safety.
"At one point in time, the law and order problem remained in Uttar Pradesh. The major challenge was for women. Dimaagi bukhaar (encephalitis) wreaked havoc. However, we worked determined to resolve it," PM Modi said.
