BRS Student Wing holds protests over 'NEET irregularities'; demands CM and Governor intervention

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], June 18 : Amidst the controversies surrounding the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET-UG) paper leak and results, K Chandrashekhar Rao's Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) student wing BRSV (Bharat Rashtra Samiti Vidhyarthi) on Tuesday staged a protest against the alleged NEET-UG question paper leaks and demanded the cancellation of the exam.
The protestors also demanded a prompt response from the Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy.
Furthermore, they also demanded the intervention of the Governor of the state over the issue, as several students of Telangana are also suffering due to the NEET-UG results controversy.
Meanwhile, the police have apprehended the protestors and the BRSV leaders.
The protestors were heading towards the Raj Bhavan under the leadership of BRSV President Gellu Srinivas.
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi, formerly known as Telangana Rashtra Samithi is an Indian political party that is predominantly active in the state of Telangana and currently the primary opposition party in the state.
Earlier in the day, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday held a protest over "irregularities" in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to medical colleges and demanded a Supreme Court-monitored probe.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and workers held a protest against the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Centre over the NEET exam result issue at Jantar Mantar in the national capital.
Meanwhile, the Bihar Economic Offences Unit (EOU) has issued notices to nine candidates asking them to arrive at their Patna office, in connection with the case.
The result of the NEET-UG 2024, declared on June 4, led to protests with allegations of irregularities.
Petitions have been filed in courts by students seeking a re-test. The Supreme Court has allowed a re-test of over 1,500 students who got grace marks.
Earlier on June 13, members of the All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) held a major protest regarding the same issue in front of Bikash Bhavan in Kolkata, West Bengal while on the same day, several students were spotted protesting against the same cause at Jantar Mantar in the capital city of Delhi.
