BSF apprehends 10 Bangladeshi nationals at Akhaura check post

Agartala (Tripura) [India], August 2 : The Border Security Force (BSF) has successfully apprehended 10 Bangladeshi nationals who were attempting to cross the border illegally.
The operation took place on August 2, 2024, at approximately 17:30 hours, following a specific tip-off regarding the illegal crossing.
Acting on the intelligence, a special operation was swiftly launched in the area of the Akhaura Check Post under the jurisdiction of the Border Outpost (BOP). Simultaneously, BSF troops stationed at the post were put on high alert to monitor the situation closely.
During the operation, an alert BSF patrolling team detected suspicious movements near the border fencing, close to the Indian village of Sanmura. Upon investigation, they intercepted and apprehended 10 Bangladeshi nationals who were in the process of illegally crossing over to Bangladesh.
The apprehended individuals are currently undergoing preliminary questioning by BSF personnel. The identities and intentions of the apprehended persons are being ascertained.
