Tarn Taran (Punjab) [India], June 9 : The Border Security Forces (BSF) troops recovered a China-made drone in Punjab's Tarn Taran on Sunday, officials said.
"On the morning of 9th June 2024, the BSF intelligence wing shared information about the presence of a drone in a farming field near the border area of Tarn Taran district. BSF troops promptly responded and conducted a thorough search operation in the suspected area," Punjab Frontier Border Security Force said in a statement.
During the search operation, around 10:30 am, BSF troops successfully recovered a small drone. This recovery took place in a farming field adjacent to CB Chand village in Tarn Taran district, they added.
"The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI MAVIC 3 Classic drone," as per the Punjab Frontier Border Security Force.
"The reliable input and vigilant action of BSF troops thwarted another attempt of drone intrusion from across the border," BSF said in the statement.
On June 7 the Border Security Force (BSF) intercepted a Pakistani drone on the outskirts of Ghoga village in Amritsar district of Punjab, an official statement said.
As per an official release from the BSF, the flying object was an assembled hexacopter, recovered in broken condition.
"Vigilant BSF troops intercepted a suspected flying object and swiftly tracked its movement to anticipate its dropping zone on the night of June 7. Subsequently, the dropping zone was cordoned off, and an extensive search operation was conducted by BSF troops," said the release.
Earlier, on June 5 a Bangladeshi national was arrested for allegedly attempting to cross the border illegally at Dharmanagar's Baruakandi village in Tripura North on Wednesday night, the BSF said.
