Car plunges into river at Saint Estevam in North Goa

North Goa (Goa) [India], September 1 : A man is feared drowned after after a car plunged into a river at Saint Estevam in the North Goa district, said an official on Sunday.
Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services, Ajit K Kamat, gave information about the incident and said that a woman was in the vehicle.
"Today at 2 am, we received a call that one car has plunged into a river. The fire station staff immediately reached here. A car had plunged into the river. A woman who was there in the car during the incident who said that a male companion was also there with her," said the official.
"The woman was, however, in a confused state of mind about whether he was there or not in the car. We can't comment as we were not the eyewitness, so I don't know whether he's missing or whether he's not there exactly," said the official.
"We took the help of Navy divers, and the car was retrieved with the help of a crane. No bodies were recovered, nor was anyone in the car," he said.
The fire and emergency services and divers from the Indian Navy were roped in to trace the man who was stated to be missing.
