Centre appoints B Srinivasan as new NSG Director General

New Delhi [India], August 28 : The Centre on Tuesday appointed senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer B Srinivasan as the new Director General of the National Security Guard (NSG), a government order said.
Srinivasan is a 1992 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Bihar cadre.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved appointment of Srinivasan as Director General, NSG, from the date of joining the post and up to August 31, 2027, ie, the date of his superannuation, said a Ministry of Personnel order.
"The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs for appointment of B Srinivasan, IPS (BH:92) as Director General, National Security Guard (NSG) in Level-16 of the pay matrix from the date of joining the post and up to 31.08.2027 ie., date of his superannuation or till further orders, whichever is earlier," the order read.
Srinivasan, a 1992 batch IPS officer from the Bihar cadre, has been appointed for the role of NSG Director General following the exit of Nalin Prabhat, who has been assigned as the Special Director General of Police in Jammu and Kashmir.
