Patna (Bihar) [India], October 2 : Ahead of the launch of Jan Suraaj as a political party, its founder and election strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor on Wednesday asked the people to raise the 'Jai Bihar' slogan so loud that the voice reaches Delhi, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu wherever Bihari children were being "abused and beaten."
"You all need to say 'Jai Bihar' so loud that no one calls you and your children 'Bihari' and it feels like abuse. Your voice must reach Delhi. It must reach Bengal, where students from Bihar were beaten. It must reach Tamil Nadu, Delhi, and Bombay wherever Bihari children were abused and beaten," Prashant Kishor said.
Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor is set to officially launch his political party, shortly.
On September 27, the Bagdogra police under the Siliguri Police Commemorate in Westr Bengal, arrested two people for allegedly threatening and harassing two youth who came to Siliguri from Bihar to attend an exam.
The incident came to light after a video of the youth went viral on social media, gaining widespread condemnation.
Earlier on September 30, Prashant Kishor said that he does not want to become the leader of the party, adding that next year, in January or February, the party will release its agenda for Bihar.
"At the beginning of the Jan Suraaj campaign, it was said that an important aim of this is to end the political helplessness under which in the last 25-30 years people voted for the BJP out of fear for Lalu Prasad out of fear for the BJP due to the lack of any alternative. For this, it is important for people of Bihar to form a better alternative...That alternative should be a party of all the people of Bihar who want to form this together," Kishor told ANI.
"So, in a way, one phase of that 2 to 2.5-year-long campaign is coming to an end. As a result, more than 1 crore people in Bihar will together formally announce this party on 2nd October. The name of the party, the Constitution, its provisions, & its leadership will be announced. I have always said that I do not want to be the leader of the party," he added.
He further said that he would encourage people not to vote under pressure from misguided leaders and to vote for their children for education and employment.
"The party is being formed; in February and March 2025 we will release the party's agenda. The blueprint and vision for Bihar will be launched. These are important steps. My dream is to not form the party and win the elections but my dream is to make the Bihar state that the people from Jharkhand, Haryana, come here and work here. This is my dream and we are working towards that," he said.
In July, Prashant Kishor announced that he would launch a new political party on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2.
The assembly elections in Bihar are likely to be held in October-November 2025.
