Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], July 26 : The Chhattisgarh legislative assembly passed a resolution on Friday expressing greetings and wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his election to the top post for the third straight term.
Meanwhile, the opposition members were not present. Speaking on the occasion, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the election of Modi as PM for third time is a big achievement.
"In the current scenario of political challenges, Modi being elected as PM for the third time is a big achievement," said the Chief Minister.
Sai further said that it's very fortunate for him that he worked as MoS during the first tenure of PM Modi. Moreover, he had witnessed the moment when PM Modi bowed down before entering parliament.
"When PM Modi announced the Swatch Bharat Yojana from Red Fort, the opposition was making mockery of it but today everyone realised the importance of it," said Sai.
"When Modi became PM in 2014, around 14,000 villages did not have electric connections, and the PM ensured the electrification of these villages," said the CM.
Sai also highlighted the effort made by PM Modi in opening Jan Dhan accounts of people.
"When Modi was elected PM for the second time, several major decisions, like the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, the construction of Ram Mandir, and others, were taken," Sai mentioned.
Sai also highlighted the efforts made by the PM to contain COVID-19 and make the vaccine available to everyone in the country. "Believing in Modi's guarantees, the public voted for us," he added.
"On the lines of PM Modi's vision of making India a developed nation by 2047, we will extend support to him by making Chhattisgarh a developed state," Sai said.
