Rampur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], September 9 : Amid United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that he is proud of his Hindu roots, former Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that this gives a clear message to those "goons" opposing Sanatana Dharma.
However, Nazvi said that if they (Udhayanidhi Stalin supporters) fail to understand this message they should be sent to a mental health facility.
"What Rishi Sunak said is a clear message for those goons oppressing Sanatana Dharma. However, these goons may not understand this. So they should be sent to a mental health center for treatment," the former Union Minister said, speaking to ANI.
Speaking exclusively to ANI, Rishi Sunak said, “I am a proud Hindu. That’s how I was raised, that’s how I am. Hopefully, I can visit the Mandir while I am here for the next couple of days. We just had Rakshabandhan, so from my sister and my cousin, I have all my Rakhis.”
“I didn’t have time to celebrate Janmashtami. But hopefully, as I said I can make up for that if we visit a Mandir this time,” he added.
He further said that faith is something very important as it gives strength and resilience during stress.
Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi accused those speaking against Sanatan Dharma saying that they are trying to spread false propaganda against the world's oldest faith, Sanatana Dharma.
"They are spreading propaganda against Sanatana Dharma, the world's oldest faith on earth. They are hurting the soul of India," Naqvi said.
Earlier this week, Tamil Nadu Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin's remark that Sanatana Dharma should not be just opposed but eradicated, received sharp criticism from the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party for hurting religious sentiments.
Speaking on the recent bye-elections in which the Bharatiya Janata Party lost the prestigious Goshi seat to the Samajwadi Party, the former Union Minister said that the opposition should not read too much into it.
"This bye-election cannot be a determinant for Modi ji's or Yogi ji's government. People should not have that misconception. Bharatiya Janata Party fights whatever elections are held with determination. You should understand that this is not a determinant for the 2024 elections," Nazvi said.
On Akhilesh Yadav celebrating the Ghosi bye-election, he said, "Let him remain in this happy illusion till 2024? It will be better known when they face the elections in 2024?"
Slamming the Congress for not basking in India's glory given that the country is hosting the G20 Summit, the Union Minister said that the party and Rahul Gandhi are engaged in defaming India on foreign soil.
"India hosting the G20 Summit is a proud moment for every Indian. It is being held for the first time in India. Top leaders of the world are here but it is a matter of regret that at a time when the whole world is respecting India, the Congress and Rahul Gandhi are engaged in insulting India in foreign countries," Naqvi said.
Speaking on the Karnataka government providing a subsidy of Rupees three lakh to minorities on vehicle purchase, the former Minority Affairs Ministry said, "For how many days will you exploit minorities by such hue and cry, for how many days will you take their votes by holding their social and educational development hostage?"
