CM Bhajan Lal Sharma presents roadmap for Viksit Rajasthan@2047 at NITI Aayog meeting

New Delhi [India], July 27 : Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma attended the NITI Aayog meeting on Saturday, where he presented the roadmap for 'Viksit Rajasthan@2047'. He outlined the state government's 10 key resolutions for 2024-25, which include making Rajasthan a USD 350 billion economy within the next five years.
The 9th NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in the national capital.
In the meeting, Sharma highlighted the 10 resolutions adopted in the 2024-25 budget to achieve Viksit Rajasthan@2047. These include boosting the state's economy to USD 350 billion in five years, improving basic facilities, advancing urban and rural development, enhancing human resources, empowering farmers, promoting MSMEs, conserving heritage, ensuring health for all, and achieving good governance.
CM Sharma said that taking steps towards Viksit Rajasthan@2047, many important decisions have been taken by the state government in the last seven months, which includes construction of nine green field expressways of 2,750 km length, construction of Matri Van in every district of the state, increasing the amount of Kisan Samman Nidhi from Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 and providing employment to 20,000 youth during this period.
During the meeting, Sharma detailed the development-oriented programmes in the state and sought necessary cooperation from the central government.
He said that the government has taken many important and decisive steps in the electricity sector as soon as it took charge and informed that MoUs worth Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand crore with central undertakings like NTPC, NTPC Green, Coal India, NLC and REC have been signed, under which 32,000 MW of electricity can be produced, which will prove important in making Rajasthan self-reliant in the field of energy.
The CM said that the state has allotted land for a 2,950 MW solar project and issued LOIs for projects with a 4,386 MW capacity under the PM Kusum Yojana. Additionally, four lakh registrations have been made under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, with over one lakh applications received.
To enhance school education, CM Sharma said that the government has introduced primary classes in 134 government Swami Vivekananda Model Schools. He also requested the Centre to approve the increased cost of Rs 72,937 crore for the Rajasthan Refinery Project to expedite its completion.
Emphasizing the role of tourism in Rajasthan's development, Sharma called for central cooperation in developing religious sites and proposed that the Braj Chaurasi Kos Parikrama Marg be declared a national highway.
The Chief Minister assured Prime Minister Narendra Modi of Rajasthan's commitment to fulfilling its resolution to become a developed state and pledged to advance under the Prime Minister's guidance.
This year's NITI Aayog meeting theme, 'Viksit Bharat@2047,' focuses on making India a developed nation, with discussions centered on approach paper for the vision document on Viksit Bharat @2047.
