CM Dhami approves Rs 9.64 crore assistance for businesses affected due to rains in Kedarnath area

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], September 27 : Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday transferred relief funds of Rs 9 crore, 64 lakh, for compensation of various affected businessmen who suffered losses due to damage caused to the pedestrian and motor road from Lincholi to Sonprayag following heavy rains in the Kedarnath area on July 31 this year.
The Chief Minister had earlier approved an amount of Rs 9 crore and 08 lakh from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund as per the proposal received from the District Magistrate Rudraprayag for compensation of the affected people due to heavy rains from Lincholi to Sonprayag.
After this, the Chief Minister approved an additional amount of Rs 56 lakh for the disaster affected. Thus, a total relief amount of Rs 9 crore 64 lakh was sent to the affected people through DBT by the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister said that the disaster in the Kedarnath area was a sad incident. The rescue operation was completed quickly with the help of the local people and the administration. He said that the state government will always be ready to help the people and businessmen affected during the disaster. Continuous work is being done to make the Kedarnath Yatra route more accessible. The Char Dham Yatra has picked up pace again.
The Chief Minister said that the work of making Kedarnath grand and divine is in progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Continuous work is going on on schemes worth crores in the Kedarnath area. These schemes provide convenience to the local people as well as the devotees coming in large numbers.
He said that the state government is working with commitment to the development of the Kedarnath area, and the government is determined to help the local people in every possible way.
It is worth noting that on 31 July this year, due to heavy rains in the Kedarnath area, the pedestrian and motor route from Linchauli to Sonprayag was damaged. Due to this, various businessmen and local people suffered a lot.
