Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], August 19 : Jharkhand BJP Spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo on Saturday said that state Chief Minister Hemant Soren should cooperate with Enforcement Directorate on the recently issued summons by the agency in connection with a money laundering and land grabbing case.
Speaking to ANI, Pratul Shah Deo said, "It seems like CM Hemant Soren needs to be reminded that he has taken an oath to uphold the Constitution and law of the land. Currently, it seems he is exactly doing the opposite. When an agency has issued a summon in a Rs 10,000 crore land scam case then he should be cooperating instead of that he has been threatening agencies on different occasions."
BJP spokesperson further stated that CM Hemant Soren should set an example for the state by cooperating with Enforcement Directorate in its investigation.
"As a CM he has to set an example for the state but by not cooperating with the ongoing investigation, probably he is hiding more than what is visible," he said.
Earlier today Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) spokesperson Manoj Pandey said that Hemant Soren is being harassed after ED issued summon to the state Chief Minister.
"Chief Minister had already clearly said that legal action will be taken if you do not withdraw this wrong summons. Even today we stick to it. We will certainly take refuge in the law. Because justice will be found from there. A responsible Chief Minister is being harassed. He is being prevented from working. Perhaps BJP people do not know how many responsibilities a Chief Minister has," he said.
ED has asked the Jharkhand CM Soren to join its investigation in the alleged money laundering and land grabbing case on August 24.
