Tonk (Rajasthan) [India], October 6 : Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Tonk district incharge for the upcoming state assembly polls, Ramesh Bidhuri, on Thursday launched a scathing attack at the Rajasthan government led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot stating that the latter was busy saving his chair while his MLAs were busy looting the state.
"Today, Rajasthan is swamped with corruption. The Chief Minister was busy saving his chair while his MLAs were busy looting the state instead of serving it. The BJP is a party of workers while the other political parties are limited to 'families'", Bidhuri said while addressing the media here in Rajasthan's Tonk.
It is worth mentioning that in view of the upcoming Rajasthan assembly polls, MP Bidhuri was appointed as the incharge of the Tonk district.
Tonk is dominated by the 'Gurjar' community and Bidhuri, too, belongs to that community.
However, following the BJP MP's appointment as Tonk incharge, several opposition leaders slammed the BJP, given the controversy that erupted after Bidhuri's communal remarks in the Rajya Sabha against Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Danish Ali.
Meanwhile, Bidhuri said, "The public will give a befitting reply to the Congress's 'appeasement politics'. Wherever there is the 'double engine' government, development follows".
Meanwhile, the BJP MP also held a meeting with the party workers at the BJP's office in the Tonk district.
Rajasthan is among the five poll-bound states this year.
Earlier on Wednesday, Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Sachin Pilot, while addressing a rally in Rajasthan's Tonk, expressed confidence in his party's victory, saying the Congress government will come to power for the second consecutive time.
Addressing the people of Tonk, Pilot said, "One who lives among the people rules the hearts of the people."
He also participated in tractor rides with farmers in Tonk to express solidarity with them.
