Congress candidate for Jamshedpur West pledges focus on key development projects

Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], October 22 : Congress candidate for the Jamshedpur West Assembly constituency Banna Gupta, has outlined his ambitious agenda aimed at improving the region's infrastructure, healthcare, education, and safety.
Expressing his gratitude after receiving the nomination, Gupta stated, "I have been nominated as a candidate by the Congress party. I sincerely thank everyone for this opportunity. I am grateful to my district, my state party, and our national leadership for their support. They have placed their faith in me to represent them in this great festival of democracy. I will work with full honesty, patience, and enthusiasm to serve the great people of Jamshedpur."
Among his key priorities, Gupta highlighted the completion of a historic flyover in Jamshedpur, which has an allocation of Rs 471 crore. He noted, "Work is progressing rapidly, but I also need to inaugurate it. This is among my priorities."
He also aims to finalize a super-specialist hospital project with 600 beds, which has been allocated Rs 434 crore and is dedicated to ensuring the smooth operation of an 851-bed hospital currently under construction in Mango. "My objective is to ensure the smooth operation of this 851-bed hospital," he added.
In education, Gupta says he has secured Rs 33 crore for a law university at a corporate college and is committed to making Jamshedpur an educational hub. Additionally, he plans to focus on skill development for youth and women through partnerships with Tata Steel.
The Congress party released its first list of 21 candidates for the Jharkhand Assembly polls on Monday night. Prominent names in the list include State Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon, senior party leader Ajoy Kumar, and Jharkhand Health Minister Gupta. Rameshwar Oraon will contest from the Lohardaga (ST) seat reserved for Scheduled Tribes, Gupta from Jamshedpur West, and Ajoy Kumar from from Jamshedpur East. Voting in Jharkhand will be held in two phases on November 13 and 20, with votes counted on November 23.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced on Saturday that the INDIA bloc will contest the Jharkhand Assembly polls together, with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress contesting 70 of the 81 seats in the state assembly. Hemant Soren stated that the remaining seats will be contested by other parties in the INDIA bloc, and talks are underway with the RJD and Left parties.
