Dec 24, 2024
Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], December 24 : Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Tuesday alleged that the Congress "distorted" the Parliament speech of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, adding that the Congress always resorted to "lies and loot."
"The Congress party was in power for so long but did not even award the Bharat Ratna to Baba Saheb. The Bharat Ratna was given during the coalition government of Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Congress did not build a single memorial for Baba Saheb. The BJP government built Panch Teerth. Congress always resorts to lies and loot. Congress practised the politics of corruption. The Congress party should have some shame. They are distorting the speech of the Union Home Minister. Congress cannot live without power; they are power-hungry. The BJP government works for the welfare of the poor," CM Bhajanlal Sharma said, addressing the media in Jaipur.
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday said that the Congress has always insulted BR Ambedkar.
"Those who insulted Babasaheb Ambedkar throughout, those who didn't allow BR Ambedkar's picture in the central hall of Parliament, those who denied him the opportunity to speak in Parliament after he resigned from his ministerial post, are now shedding crocodile tears. They have no right...Congress has always insulted him. If these people talk about sympathy towards BR Ambedkar, it does not suit them," CM Vishnu Deo Sai told reporters.
Following Shah's remarks, Parliament witnessed parallel protests from both the Treasury and Opposition benches outside the Parliament last week, which led to a huge scuffle between the two sides. Two BJP MPs, Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, sustained injuries.
The ruling BJP MPs were protesting in Parliament premises against the Congress party for "insulting" Babasaheb Ambedkar. INDIA Bloc MPs, led by Rahul Gandhi, held a protest in Parliament premises and demanded Shah's resignation over his remarks on Ambedkar.
During the scuffle, BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput were injured on their heads.
