Maheshwaram (Telangana) [India], October 16 : Alleging that Congress has deceived the public, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that Congress created Telangana under pressure and left many issues unsolved.
Addressing a public rally at Maheshwaram, the Union Defence Minister said that BJP during Atal ji's rule created three states successfully but never had issues.
"Congress has betrayed you. When Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister we also created three new states Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand and Jharkhand. There was no problem in front of these states, they are developing. Congress created Telangana under pressure from the BJP and they left many issues unsolved... Congress has deceived the public," Rajnath Singh said
He further said that KCR Garu you have been in the government in Telangana for the past 10 years. The people of the state have given you their love... But what have you done with Telangana?
"If we look at the state maybe there's a little bit of development near Hyderabad. The whole of Telangana is counted among the backward states. Only the BRS party and KCR Garu are responsible for this," he added.
Earlier Rajnath Singh addressed a public meeting in Huzurabad where is lashed out at KCR's family saying that in the last 10 years, the development in Telangana is not just limited, but private limited.
"In the last 10 years, the development in Telangana is not just limited, but private limited. Here, the interference of KCR's family is seen... The people chose you as a CM, not your family. I don't want to make allegations about any family member... I respect them all. But you have to run the government. The whole family is running the government," he added.
"The people of Telangana are being neglected. There is an abuse of power under KCR's rule and corruption is increasing rapidly. KCR says that he has never done any corruption but the talk of corruption done by his family is not limited to Hyderabad or Telangana, it has reached Delhi," Rajnath Singh said.
This campaigning gained momentum after the election commission announced dates for the Assembly elections in the state to be held on November 30 and the counting of votes will take place on December 3.
With BJP yet to release its list of candidates in Telangana, Congress on Sunday announced its first list of candidates in the poll-bound state.
Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will kick off the Congress' poll campaign in Telangana on October 18th.
Telangana is set to witness a triangular contest between the BJP, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi and the Congress in the upcoming assembly election.
In the previous Assembly election held in 2018, BRS managed to win 88 seats out of 119 and had a dominant vote share of 47.4 per cent. Congress came at a distant second with 19 seats. Its vote share was 28.7 per cent
