Singhbhum (Jharkhand) [India], May 3 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the Congress does not value Jharkhand's tribal history or the aspirations of the tribal people and the party along with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha openly loots resources of the state.
Addressing a public rally in the Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, Prime Minister Modi said the relationship between BJP and Jharkhand is one from the heart and that if anyone understands Jharkhand and the feelings of the people here, then it is only the BJP.
"Bhajpa aur jharkhand ka jo ye rishta haina, vo dil ka hai, jharkhand ko, yaha ke logo ki bhavnao ko agar koi samajhta hai aur suljhata hai, toh vo sirf BJP hai," said the Prime Minister.
"Only BJP understands the sentiments of the people here and caters to them. We are always aware of what you have in mind, and what the people want. A separate Jharkhand -- Atal Bihari Vajpayee formed that, BJP did it. What did Congress do? Oppose Jharkhand vehemently. A few leaders of Bihar used to say that Jharkhand would be formed over their dead bodies. These days, they are in INDI Alliance," he said.
Hitting out at the Congress party, Prime Minister Modi said, "The Congress wants to give the entire credit for freedom to only one family. It is the BJP that gave recognition to Bhagwan Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary and started celebrating Jatiya Gaurav Diwas on that day."
"My Adivasi brothers and sisters have a right to the jal, jungle, and zameen of Jharkhand. JMM and Congress consider it their property, which is why they are openly looting every resource of the state. JMM was involved in such a big liquor scam. Sand is being illegally mined and looted. Everyone from small leaders to the former CM, everyone is involved in it. After taking away the lands of Adivasis, they have their eyes on the lands of the Indian Army," said PM Modi.
He said that the Congress party does not value the state's tribal history or the aspirations of the tribal people to progress towards development.
PM Modi in his address also expressed gratitude to the people of the state for turning up to support him and said that the love and the blessings are the people are what give PM Modi 'strength.'
"Today you all have turned up in huge numbers and come here to bless us. This love of yours, these blessings, this is the strength of Modi," he said.
He further attacked Congress and said that the party used to make plans for the development of the state while sitting inside air-conditioned rooms, adding that they used to send Rs 1 for the state's progress and kept 50 paise for themselves.
"Congress Ek rupya dete the, aur 50 paise mar lete the. Modi ne kaha agar 1 rupya bhjta hu toh sara 100 paise apke account mai jyega," he said.
Speaking to the public ahead, PM Modi listed the various government schemes launched for the people of the country from Jharkhand.
"We launched the Ayushman Bharat scheme from the land of Jharkhand on BR Ambedkar Jayanti. And today crores of poor people are receiving free treatment worth Rs 5 lakh from this scheme," he said.
The MUDRA scheme was also launched from Jharkhand's Dumka to strengthen the hands of the youth, to offer opportunities to the youth, PM Modi said adding that the scheme has helped crores of youth to start work of their choice and given them financial independence.
"The PM Jan Man Yojana also started from Jharkhand and from the village of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. This 24,000 crore scheme is now changing the lives of the extremely backward brothers and sisters in the region," he added.
PM Modi said, "The vehicle of Modi's guarantee to Viksit Bharat also began from Khunti in Jharkhand. That is why I say that BJP and Jharkhand have a relationship of heart and this is why today everyone in Jharkhand is saying the same thing with confidence, enthusiasm and joyously, 'Phir Ek Baar Modi Sarkar."
