Congress' Khammam LS candidate Ramasahayam Raghuram calls "BRS as B-team of BJP"

Khammam (Telangana) [India], May 9 : Congress candidate from Khammam Lok Sabha seat Ramasahayam Raghuram called the Bharat Rashtra Samithi the "B-team of the BJP" and said that in his constituency, the main fight is between Congress and BRS.
"Right now we have all three parties in the fray- Congress, Sitting MP from BRS and BJP. BJP will not be able to give us a fight. The fight is primarily between Congress and BRS," Raghuram told ANI.
"Couple of days back Chandrashekar Rao visited Khammam and made bold statement where he asked vote for BRS candidate Nama Nageswar Rao, saying that if he is elected he will be a minister at the Centre," he added.
Raghuram said that BRS, which is contesting from only 16 seats, can not form government at the Centre, the statement proves that the party is the B team of the BJP.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Nama Nageswar Rao won the seat, bagging 5,67,459 votes. The runner-up was Renuka Chowdhury of the Congress. Since its inception in 1952, Khammam has been a Congress stronghold where it has won 12 times
The Khammam Lok Sabha constituency consists of seven assembly seats, including Khammam, Palair, Madhira, Wyra, Sathupalli, Kothagudem, and Aswaraopeta.
Voting for all 17 seats in Telangana will take place on May 13 in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. In the 2019 general election, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won nine seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party four, Congress three and AIMIM one seat.
The voting for the first three phases has been completed so far. The next round of voting will be held on May 13. Lok Sabha polls are being held across seven phases till June 1 and votes will be counted on June 4.
