Oct 14, 2024
New Delhi [India], October 14 : Reacting to the incident of 518 kg of cocaine being seiezed in Ankleshwar city of Gujarat, the Congress leader Mumtaz Patel on Monday accused the BJP government of allowing illegal activities in Gujarat.
"The question arises whether Gujarat has become the gateway to drugs. Because even in 2022, there were seizures of drugs and in August too, drugs worth Rs 1300 crore were seized. The Congress leader said that a BJP government has been in charge of the state for 30 years and such activities were happening under its nose.
"Such incidents are happening every day, due to which now the government is trying to be proactive and is also trying to bring anti-drug laws. This disease of drug addiction affects the entire society and this fight is of the entire society. We used to hear about Udta Punjab, but Udta Gujarat is happening... There is a BJP government there for 30 years and this is happening under their nose," she said.
