"Congress party registered victory under Revanth Reddy": Deepender Hooda congratulates Telangana CM-designate

New Delhi [India], December 6 : Congress MP Deepender Hooda met the Telangana CM-designate and state party chief Revanth Reddy on Wednesday and congratulated him on the party's performance in the state.
After he met with Reddy, Hooda, while congratulating him said that the Congress Party registered its victory under Reventh's leadership.
"I congratulate Revanth Reddy as under his leadership, the Congress party registered victory in Telangana...The entire Haryana is extending its best wishes to him that Telangana go ahead under his leadership. We are with you. The entire Haryana will be with you in your swearing-in ceremony tomorrow," he said.
Later, Hooda posted a video wherein he can be seen greeting Reddy and hugging him.
"Revanth is the name of that youth power whose passion and hard work has created history in Telangana, now is the time to write a new golden chapter in the development of Telangana. good wishes," Hooda said in a post on X later.
Revanth Reddy also met Congress Lok Sabha Chief Whip K Suresh at the Parliament.
The Congress MP from Malkajgiri, Revanth Reddy is expected to tender his resignation as a Member of the Parliament, ahead of his swearing-in ceremony in Hyderabad tomorrow.
Reddy also met former Haryana CM and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda at the latter's residence in Chandigarh.
He also met Congress Telangana in charge, Manikrao Thakare at Maharashtra Sadan, in Delhi.
Revanth Reddy, seen as a strong critic of outgoing Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, was the face of the Congress poll effort in the state and ran a spirited campaign.
Earlier, on Tuesday, Congress general secretary KC Venugopal announced that Revanth Reddy would be the new leader of the Congress Legislative Party in Telangana.
Reddy is an MP in the Lok Sabha from INC, representing Malkajgiri Constituency. Earlier, he won the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections in 2014 from the Kodangal seat with a vote share of 46.45 per cent.
In the 2014 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, he again won the same seat with a vote share of 39.06 per cent before losing the seat in the 2019 Telangana Assembly elections. He left the TDP and joined Congress in 2017.
In June 2021, he was appointed president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, replacing N. Uttam Kumar Reddy.
Congress won an absolute majority in Telangana for the first time, winning 64 of 119 seats.
Bharat Rashtra Samithi, which ruled India's youngest state for 10 years, won 38 seats. The BJP won eight seats, and AIMIM got seven.
