Congress sending money from Karnataka to Telangana to win elections: BRS leader Harish Rao

Medak (Telangana) [India], October 13 : Reacting to the income tax raid in Karnataka where Rs 42 crore was recovered from a former Congress corporator, Telangana Finance Minister and BRS leader, Harish Rao, lashed out at the Congress party and said on Friday that the amount was being transferred to Telangana via Chennai from Bangalore to fund Assembly polls for the Congress in Telangana.
I-T raids were conducted on the residence of R. Ambikapathy, vice-president of Karnataka State Contractors' Association and president of BBMP Contractors' Association, and his wife Ashwathamma, a former councillor.
Ashwathamma is the elder sister of former Congress MLA Akhand Srinivasamurthy.
BRS leader Rao said that today I-T (Income Tax) raids were conducted in Bangalore where the congress party's cash has come out. Congress party illegally earned corrupt money and was trying to transfer the money and win the elections in Telangana, he added.
In the I-T raids, Rs 42 crore was found at the house of R. Ambikapathy and his wife Ashwathama and that money seems to be collected from the contractors to transfer to Telangana, said Rao.
Nearly Rs 1500 crore was collected from builders, gold merchants, and contractors in an attempt to spend the money and win in Telangana, he added.
The BRS leader further said that the Congress party's condition is such that they can't even select their candidates and till now the the Congress has not declared the tickets as they are not able to find people.
Even after the election schedule has been released, Congress is unable to declare tickets as they are looking at the opposition parties, Rao said.
There is only 'hungama' on social media but no response among the people, he said.
He further alleged Karnataka has become a corrupt state and you can ask any builder in Karnataka that for every square foot, Rs 75 is being collected by the Congress.
Further taking a dig at the Congress, the BRS leader termed the opposition party as 'Scamgress'.
We also got to know that nearly Rs 1500 crore from Bangalore via Chennai to Hyderabad is trying to be transferred and till now some money has reached Chennai and also Hyderabad, said Rao.
