Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], June 14 : Rajasthan Bharatiya Janata Party President CP Joshi expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allocating four cabinet berths to leaders from Rajasthan and accused the Congress of spreading false narratives and lies since 1947.
Speaking to ANI, the Rajasthan BJP President on Friday said that the BJP will hold a meeting and discuss the Lok Sabha results as the BJP won only 14 seats out of 25 seats in the state.
"I extend thanks to PM Modi for allocating 4 cabinet berths to leaders from Rajasthan. In the coming days, a discussion will be done on Lok Sabha results. CP Joshi is and was a party karyakarta and will always work for the party," Joshi said.
BJP leaders Bhupender Yadav and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat were sworn in as Cabinet Ministers, Arjun Ram Meghwal took oath as a Minister of State with independent charge and Bhagirath Choudhary as a Minister of State.
He further lashed out at Congress and accused the party of spreading false narratives since 1947.
"Since 1947, the Congress party has been spreading confusion and lies, and this time it has been successful in it. Before coming to power, Congress claimed that they would do this, but after coming to power, they forgot all there promises, but the BJP always does what it says. We follow what we say in our 'Sankalp Patra' whether it is state or central government," he said when asked about the big reason for losing seats in Rajasthan.
CP Joshi further asserted that, after the formation of the government, we set a target of 100 days in which 45 per cent of the work has been done from the party's Sankalp Patra.
"It is a record that we have done 45 per cent of the work from the Sankalp Patra in the 100 days after forming the government. Rajasthan, which was becoming the gang war has now being stopped by the Bharatiya Janata Party. PM Modi has also made the roadmap for the next 100 days and with hard work and dedication, the double-engine government will work," he added.
When asked about the Rajasthan budget session, Joshi said that the budget would be for the welfare of the people.
"In both the Centre and the state, our focus was always on poor people who were deprived of basic facilities. We will work for women's empowerment, education, and farmers. There are many works that are important, and we have to fulfill them. For that, roadmaps are being prepared," he said.
He said that the BJP is a "cadre based and mass based party" and would work to make the party stronger.
The budget session of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly is to begin on July 3. The state government will deliberate on the budget demands from various departments.
Joshi also congratulated PM Modi for being elected as the PM for the third time.
"I congratulate PM Modi, as the people of the country have elected him as PM for the third time, and thank him that four people from Rajasthan have been given representation in his team. It's not necessary that whatever decision we take, it must go well. Whatever is there, things will come out after review," he told reporters.
Reacting to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Indresh Kumar's statement that the BJP was restricted to 240 seats, well below the majority mark, due to its arrogance, Joshi said, "Kisne kya kaha maine dekha nhi hai."
"Kisne kya kaha maine dekha nhi hai. I will hear this then I will repond," he said.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has won 14 seats in Rajasthan in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections while the Congress has secured a win on eight seats in the state. The BJP, which secured the majority in Rajasthan, getting 24 seats in the 2019 elections, has come down to 14.
