New Delhi [India], July 30 : Delhi Minister Gopal Rai claimed on Tuesday that a conspiracy is being hatched to keep Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in jail, alleging a continuous dip in his sugar levels.
His remarks came after INDIA bloc leaders gathered at Jantar Mantar on Tuesday, demanding the release of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
"The people of this country have given a message to the BJP to stop undermining democracy and the Constitution. A conspiracy is being hatched to keep him in jail continuously while his sugar level is continuously decreasing...," Rai told ANI.
Reacting to the INDIA bloc rally, he said, "Today all the leaders of the INDIA alliance came here against this (demanding the release of CM Kejriwal). Our fight will continue to save the Constitution, democracy and the release of Arvind Kejriwal...".
The AAP leader vowed to fight against the BJP-led Centre by taking the fight from the Parliament to the streets of Delhi.
Replying to a query on the Rajendra Nagar incident in which three UPSC aspirants lost their lives, he said, "The way the BJP is playing with the lives of the people, the Aam Aadmi Party will fight against it from Parliament to the road, from LG's office (Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena) to Parliament, until action is taken against the culprits..."
Earlier in the day, Sunita Kejriwal, wife of AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, spoke on Tuesday about his health issues and said that his illness was neglected as part of a conspiracy.
The remark was made by Sunita Kejriwal as she was joined by Delhi Minister and AAP leader Gopal Rai, NCP-SCP chief Sharad Pawar, and CPI General Secretary D Raja in the INDIA bloc protest at Jantar Mantar over Arvind Kejriwal's health and his illegal arrest.
The Aam Aadmi Party took to its official X handle and shared a video of Sunita Kejriwal speaking on the health issue of Arvind Kejriwal. She said, "Arvind Kejriwal has been suffering from diabetes for 22 years. He takes insulin to control his high sugar. When he went to jail, he was not given insulin. We had to go to court to get his insulin. What is the meaning of this? His illness was ignored as part of the conspiracy."
Elaborating more on Delhi CM's health issues, Sunita Kejriwal said, "There is a sensor fitted on the Chief Minister's hand. He takes readings from the reader to know his sugar level. A graph is prepared in this reader and the sugar level of the whole day is recorded in that graph. Generally, if the sugar level goes below 70 then the patient feels nervous. Whenever this happens at home, we take care of the Chief Minister."
Meanwhile, the Rouse Avenue Court on Tuesday fixed August 12 for consideration of the supplementary chargesheet filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other accused persons in connection with the excise policy case.
