"Corrupt should not be given so many chances": BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Kejriwal again skipping ED's summons

New Delhi [India], February 27 : Launching scathing attack on Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal for skipping Enforcement Directorate's summons, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Tuesday said " the corrupt should not get so many chances."
Giving the example of Hemant Soren, the BJP MP said, "In Jharkhand, when he (Soren) didn't appear before the ED after the ten summons, he was arrested."
Manoj Tiwari further said that the Delhi CM has proven himself to be the culprit.
"Maybe Arvind Kejriwal is on the same path as Soren's. It is worrisome that by doing all this the message he has given to the people is not to follow the law. A person holding the CM post, who has evaded questioning, has proven that he is a culprit and he should be dealt with accordingly," Tiwari said.
Notably, the ED issued an eighth summons to Kejriwal in a money laundering probe related to alleged irregularities in the Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22 case, asking him to join the investigation on March 4.
The fresh summons to the Delhi Chief Minister followed the seventh summons which he had skipped on February 26.
Kejriwal has so far skipped seven previous summons issued by the ED on February 26, February 19, February 2, January 18, January 3, November 2 and December 22, calling them "illegal and politically motivated".
The ED wants to record Kejriwal's statement in the case on issues like the formulation of Delhi excise policy (2021-22) and meetings held before it was finalised.
In a First Information Report (FIR), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has alleged multiple irregularities in the formation and implementation of the Delhi excise policy (2021-22). The policy was withdrawn after allegations of corruption.
