Court directs jail authorities to test Amanatullah Khan's blood sugar level twice a day

New Delhi [India], October 9 : The Rouse Avenue court on Wednesday directed the jail authorities to test the AAP MLA Amanat Ullah Khan's blood sugar level twice on daily basis in view of his medical conditions.
The court issued direction while disposing of his plea seeking permission to carry a gluco metre in judicial custody. He is in judicial custody in Delhi Waqf Board Money laundering case.
Special judge Vishal Gogne after noting the submissions of jail authorities directed to test AAP MLA's Glucose level twice a day. It is also directed to make arrangements of warm water for him in judicial custody.
" Having considered the documents and submissions, it is directed that the sugar levels of the accused shall be tested twice at regular intervals daily and also if the accused reports any discomfort and seeks additional testing. The Jail Authorities shall also constantly make warm water available to the accused," Special judge ordered on October 9.
With the above directions the court disposed of application of Amanatullah Khan seeking provision of an electric kettle and also a glucometer on account of his medical condition related to diabetes.
The jail authorities clarified that they are in a position to provide daily/regular testing of the sugar levels of the accused and also to provide warm water to him.
MLA Amanatullah Khan is in judicial custody till October 21. He was arrested on September 2, by the ED in Delhi Waqf Board Money laundering case. He has been arrest in connection with purchase of Rs. 36 Crores property in Okhla.
On October 7, Special judge Vishal Gogne had extended Judicial custody of Amanatullah Khan in judicial after hearing submissions of ED and defense counsel.
Special public prosecutor (SPP) for the Enforcement Directorate (ED) sought judicial custody of AAP MLA Amanat Ullah Khan. We will file a supplementary charge sheet against the accused Amanatullah Khan, SPP had Said.
Earlier, it was submitted that The present accused is main accused and investigation is still going on. He may tamper with the evidence, if not sent to judicial custody, ED added.
Advocate Rajat Bhardwaj alongwith Kaustubh Khanna, Counsel for accused had opposed the request for extension of judicial custody.
