"Deeply saddened": AAP leader Raghav Chadha expresses condolences on Hathras stampede

New Delhi [India], July 2 : Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha on Tuesday expressed condolences over the death of 116 people who lost their lives in a stampede incident in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras.
"Deeply saddened by the tragic stampede in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh in which more than 100 people have lost their lives and several others have been injured. My heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. Praying for the swift recovery of the injured," Raghav Chadha wrote in a post on X.
PM Modi also expressed his condolences during his reply to the Motion of Thanks on the President's address in Lok Sabha.
The Prime Minister said he had received tragic news of people dying in the stampede in Hathras and the administration was engaged in relief and rescue efforts.
He said all necessary help will be provided to victims. The Prime Minister also expressed his condolences over the deaths in the tragedy and wished speedy recovery to the injured.
As per the latest death toll, around 116 people have lost their lives and 18 were injured in the tragic incident.
"116 people have been confirmed dead. 18 people are injured. Treatment is being ensured for the injured in Aligarh district. Primary investigation is being carried out," said Aligarh Commissioner Chaitra V.
Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh also expressed grief over the stampede accident.
Taking to X Sanjay Singh posted, "The news of the death of hundreds of people in the stampede during the Satsang in Hathras is extremely heartbreaking. May God grant peace to the souls of the dead and give strength to the family members to bear this immense pain."
Earlier, Union Minister Rajnath Singh and Biju Janata Dal President Naveen Patnaik also conveyed their sorrow regarding the incident.
"The accident that happened in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh is extremely painful. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families of those who have lost their loved ones in this accident," Singh said.
"Along with this, I wish for the speedy recovery of all the injured. Under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is providing all possible help to all the victims," he added.
