Delhi: Retired CRPF official dies after son pushes him during fight

New Delhi [India], September 15 : A retired Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Assistant Commandant died in the national capital after being allegedly rammed into a wall by his son who was in an inebriated condition, Delhi Police said.
The incident took place in a DDA flat in Madangir on Tuesday, police said adding that Ambedkar Nagar Police had received a PCR call on September 12 about the incident.
An inquiry revealed that the retired CRPF personnel identified as Leela Dhar Bhatt (68), and his son Deepak Bhatt (37) were both in an inebriated condition and had struck up a quarrel. During the fight, the son allegedly rammed the deceased’s head into a wall.
The senior Bhatt was admitted to AIIMS Trauma Centre after a Police Control Room van rushed him to the hospital where doctors declared him 'brought dead', police said.
As per the information by the police, Bhatt suffered and died due to a cardiac arrest and CPR for 20 minutes could not revive him. The police was apprised of the history by the deceased’s daughter-in-law.
The deceased’s son was apprehended from his house by a police crime team.
Prima Facie an offence under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at the Ambedkar Nagar police station, police said.
