Una (Himachal Pradesh) [India], May 19 : Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri on Sunday participated in a conference here and emphasized the importance that the state government places on creating employment opportunities for its youth.
Agnihotri reaffirmed the government's commitment to ensuring that Himachalis are given precedence in governmental, industrial, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
The conference was organised by the Haroli Youth Congress in Haroli, Una.
Addressing the youth gathered in large numbers, Mukesh Agnihotri said, "Himachal government is working for employment, priority is being set to ensure that the youth get employment. The government will open doors of employment in government and private sector."
He added, "We are working to ensure that Himachalis get priority in government, industry and self-employment opportunities."
Providing information about the recruitments in various departments, Agnihotri said, "More than 10,000 recruitments are being done in Jal Shakti Department, more than 350 recruitments are being done in Transport Department... Apart from this, on the instructions of the Chief Minister of the state, all the ministers are also doing special work to provide government employment in many departments. The promises made by the Congress government to the youth will be fulfilled."
Focussing on free education and health services, the deputy CM claimed that both of these will come on the agenda in the coming times. "If I am talking about this today (free education and health care), you may think that this is not possible but remember that in the coming times, governments will have to think about health and education, they will have to work to make it available free of cost..."
He said, "BJP has cheated the youth, has not given them employment, has increased the number of drug addicts and youth."
He added, "Saving the young generation has become a big issue today. Drug addiction will have to be eliminated and youth will have to be taken towards employment."
Stepping up his attacks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Agnihotri criticised the PM for not taking care of the poor and maintaining a silence on the matter of youth unemployment. "Prime Minister, who made a few capitalists rich, did not take care of the poor, made the poor even poorer and has worsened the condition of the country. Those who promised to employ two crore youth are silent on unemployment today."
Praising the Congress, Agnihotri said, "The Congress party has talked about giving Rs 1 lakh in honour of women... it has talked about employing the youth, farmers' loans will be waived off. Congress will do the work of making the country prosperous."
"Congress is now strong and now no conspiracy will succeed. Mukesh said that after June 4, the government will be strong and this June 4 will be made memorable for BJP and its leaders," Agnihotri added.
Mukesh Agnihotri in his address also said that the elections are on the issue of development and making Himachal self-reliant. He said, "It is between who is in support of the guarantee of giving Rs 1500 to women and who is against it, who is the supporter of OPS (Old Pension Scheme) and who is against it, who wants to provide employment to the youth in a transparent manner and who sells the papers, who gave protection to the mafia and who is stopping the mafia?"
Urging the people to support Una candidate Satpal Raizada, Agnihotri said that the people should unite, vote for Raizada. He also asserted that Raizada will take the development forward.
Meanwhile, Agnihotri also took to his official X handle and posted about the conference organised by Haroli Youth Congress. He said, "The tremendous enthusiasm of the youth in the scorching heat boosted the morale of the Congress. Today, addressed the huge "Youth Conference" organized at Ghaluwal in Haroli. The huge crowd gathered at the youth conference is clearly stating that the young friends of Haroli are going to create history this time. Jai Congress, Vijay Congress."
The BJP, which won all four Lok Sabha constituencies in the state in the 2019 elections, is eyeing an encore this time.
