Agartala (Tripura) [India], October 8 : Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha criticized the opposition for their attempts to hinder progress in the state and said that progress and development pose a challenge to their political survival.
During the inauguration of several projects on Monday, including the renovation and restoration of Ujjayanta Palace Garden, at Ujjayanta Palace, Agartala, CM Saha said that the state government is focused on working with transparency.
"The state government is committed to development, and we are moving forward with clear goals. Some are trying to obstruct this progress because they feel that development threatens their existence. They claim there is no development in Tripura, but this is simply to serve their own interests. Their criticism will not yield any results. We are focused on working with transparency," he said.
He further said that the Ujjayanta Palace is a testament to the rich history and heritage of Tripura.
"Restoration and renovation of it will not only preserve our heritage but also increase its potential as a tourist attraction," he said.
The project was implemented with financial support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Speaking at the event, which was organized at the Ujjayanta Palace premises, CM Saha highlighted that Agartala Smart City Limited had spearheaded the renovation and restoration of the palace gardens.
"I visited the site multiple times during work. We were eagerly waiting for its completion, and today, on this auspicious occasion, it has been inaugurated. A well-planned, citizen-friendly management system has been established. The design of the project is centred around the city's needs," he said.

The government is making all the necessary arrangements to ensure a pleasant experience for visitors. We are working for the welfare of the people under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. To us, Prime Minister Modi symbolizes development," CM Saha emphasized.
