DGCA suspends approval of International Aircraft Sales Pvt Ltd over safety concern
Aug 22, 2024
New Delhi [India], August 22 : The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has suspended the approval of International Aircraft Sales Private Limited, effective immediately from today, due to significant safety concerns.
The decision comes after a Cessna 152 aircraft, VT-BBB, operated by Belagavi Aviation and Sport Enterprises, Guna crash-landed on August 11 during a test flight following engine failure.
The aircraft had undergone maintenance, including an engine overhaul, during its first flight at International Aircraft Sales Pvt Ltd's DGCA-approved facility in Bhopal.
Post the incident, a special audit of International Aircraft Sales Pvt Ltd was conducted by the DGCA.
The findings of the audit have raised serious concerns about the maintenance standards being followed by the organization.
It may be recalled that last year, post-series of serious incidents involving aircraft of Red Bird Flight Training Academy Pvt Ltd, DGCA suspended its operations at all its bases and was restored only after a complete recertification of their maintenance facilities.
