Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], November 17 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP Prakash Javdekar on Friday hit out at the ruling party in Telangana Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), and called it "bhoomi donga" accusing that a huge chunk of the land went missing and thousands of farmers lost their land through the Dharani portal.
"No meeting of any village was held to validate land records and not even any filed visit to check the land boundaries. Other than Dharani there are no land records. What happened to physical land records? Where had they gone? The Dharani portal scam is the biggest scam. Lakhs of people lost their land. The village revenue officer had all the records of the land. Village revenue officers were posted somewhere else," the Rajya Sabha MP said, alleging that the people have lost their lands in the absence of land records.
He further accused the BRS of handing over the maintenance of the land records to a foreign company.
"Not only lands, but the entire government and private persons' data went into private hands," he alleged.
"Government lands, temple lands, Bhudan lands, assigned lands, ED seized lands and lakes went missing and the Government itself turned as 'bhoomi donga' by bringing the Dharani portal," he added.
Javdekar, however, assured that these lands would be resumed to their original owners and those responsible for missing lands would be punished if his party is elected to the power.
Telangana will go to the polls on November 30.
The BJP is expected to step up its campaign for the November 30 polls with several union ministers participating in the rallies in the coming days.
In the previous Assembly election in 2018, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), previously known as Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), won 88 of the 119 seats, grabbing 47.4 per cent of the total vote share. The Congress came in a distant second with just 19 seats.
State BJP Chief G Kishan Reddy that his party will hold door-to-door campaigning wherein the people will be made aware of "corruptions by the BRS".
"Keeping the elections in our minds, we are going to hold meetings in every constituency. PM Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Assam CM HImanta Biswa Sarma and Goa CM Pramod Sawant and many others are going to participate in election campaigning. Election campaigning will be held as a door-to-door campaign. BRS party's corruption, their dynastic politics and their failures are going to be told to the people through door to door campaign," Reddy said.
Further, hitting out at the Congress party for their manifesto, Reddy said that the grand old party has never fulfilled a single promise it made to people in the last 75 years.
