Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) [India], August 24 : Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief VD Sharma on Saturday took a jibe at veteran Congress leader Digvijaya Singh for raising questions on bulldozer action saying that the latter is doing appeasement politics.
In a post on X, the Congress leader wrote, "I am against bulldozer culture. The accused should be punished but the Court has the right to punish, not any administrative officer or MP-MLA. Was the house in Chhatarpur demolished because he pelted stones at the police or was it demolished because of encroachment? The administration should disclose it."
Reacting to Singh's remark, BJP chief Sharma said, "If someone does hooliganism, breaks the law, or if someone spreads terror, will Digvijay Singh support them? Can never do it. He (Singh) only does politics. Deep down he also feels good that the right thing was done. But he says all this just to do politics of appeasement."
Notably, illegal constructions belonging to the key accused involved in a stone-pelting incident that occurred at a police station in Chhatarpur district on August 21 were demolished the next day August 22. The demolition action was taken up jointly by district administration and police.
Meanwhile, talking about the regional industry conclave to be held in Gwalior on August 28, the BJP leader said, "Our government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has started a good initiative through Regional Industries Conclave. With this, it will be identified what are the industrial possibilities of the region and how to get employment opportunities for the people there."
"What Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said about Vocal for Local; establishment of industry on the basis of such locality, is a good effort. I thank our government for this. Gwalior Regional Industries Conclave will prove to be better for the people of Chambal division," he added.
