Discussion to be held to extend Jyoti Sanjeevini scheme to aided school teachers: Karnataka Minister

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], September 9 : Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said on Saturday that a meeting will be convened to discuss the expansion of the 'Jyoti Sanjeevini' health insurance scheme to include aided school teachers.
'Jyoti Sanjeevini Yojana' at present is only applicable to state government employees. Under the scheme, seven major health services are provided free of charge.
Rao said this while inaugurating the State Level Teacher's Day and Teacher's State Conference of the Karnataka State Aided Primary School Teachers' Association in Bangalore. 
Addressing the 13 demands presented by aided school teachers during the conference, Minister  Rao assured them that these matters would be discussed at the government level.
He emphasized the need to simplify rules, particularly regarding the renewal of accreditation for aided schools and expressed his view that government-level resolutions should be adopted to address these issues.
“In my view, there is a need to simplify the rules, especially in the matter of renewal of recognition of aided schools. Resolutions should be made at the government level regarding this,” The Minister said.
Minister Rao further assured the aided school teachers that he would hold discussions with both the Education Minister and the Chief Minister to arrive at decisions on all of these issues.
Rao emphasized the importance of education and health in the nation's progress, stating that higher literacy rates contribute to a healthier society.
“Education and health are two important factors for the progress of the country. More the literacy the better. In addition to this, we also need a healthy society,” he said.
