DMK president MK Stalin pays floral tribute to M Karunanidhi on his 97th birth anniversary

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], June 3 : Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) President MK Stalin along with other party leaders including Kanimozhi paid floral tribute to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on his 97th birth anniversary at party headquarters in Chennai on Wednesday.
Karunanidhi, who was Tamil Nadu's longest-serving chief minister, breathed his last on June 3 last year at the age of 94 after a period of prolonged illness.
Meanwhile, the Congress party took to Twitter to pay tribute to Karunanidhi. "Today, on his birth anniversary, we honour former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M Karunanidhi for his immense contributions to the State and the Nation. He was longest-serving Chief Minister of the State ranging almost two decades," Congress tweet read.
"Tribute to former Chief Minister Shri Karunanidhi on his birth anniversary. He had the longest tenure as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu with 6,863 days in office. #FatherofModernTamilnadu #Tamilnadu," Tamil Nadu Youth Congress tweeted.
