Does not suit his office: Adhir on charges against West Bengal Governor

Murshidabad (West Bengal) [India], May 6 : Amid allegations against West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose, state Congress chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said that such complaints do not suit the office of the Governor and the matter should be investigated.
"It is unfortunate if someone levels such charges against the Governor. I do not know the case in detail. It does not suit the office of the Governor. I would urge the authorities to investigate the matter properly and find out the truth," Chowdhury said at a press conference in West Bengal's Murshidabad on Monday.
The ruling Trinamool Congress and Governor Bose are in a standoff over a sexual harassment case that the TMC has flagged against him. Bose has denied the allegations saying 'Truth Will Triumph'.
On Union Minister Amit Shah's aim for the number of seats the BJP intends to win in the Lok Sabha elections, Chowdhury said, "Amit Shah can claim any number. PM Modi has spoken about 400 seats, it will not be any difference if Amit Shah speaks about 4000 seats. It does not take taxes or a license to say anything."
Those who are involved in the SSC scam should be jailed.
The Calcutta High Court in April, declared all appointments null and void in the selection of candidates in West Bengal government-sponsored and aided secondary and higher secondary schools through a 2016 recruitment process.
Earlier on Sunday, Governor Bose took to his official X handle and said that no inquiry can be conducted against a Governor during their term of office regarding molestation charges levelled against him.
Posting on X, the West Bengal Governor said that Article 361(2) and (3) of the Constitution of India protects the President, Governors and Rajpramukhs. The post reads, "No criminal proceedings whatsoever shall be instituted or continued against the President, or the Governor of a State, in any court during his term of office and no process for the arrest or imprisonment of the President, or the Governor of a State, shall issue from any court during his term of office."
He added further, "It is clear that the State machinery cannot set in motion any sort of criminal proceedings, whatsoever, against the Governor."
Bose also wrote to Raj Bhavan staff and asked them to ignore any communication from the police regarding the matter.
West Bengal, which sends 42 MPs, to Parliament, is voting in all seven phases. Polling for six Lok Sabha seats in Bengal was held across the first two phases on April 19 and 26.
Polling for the remaining parliamentary seats will be held on May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1.
