Jul 15, 2024
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 15 : After Prime Minister Narendra Modi crossed 100 million followers on social media platform X, Uttar Pradesh Congress Chief, Ajay Rai said on Monday that PM Modi's graph is declining and it doesn't matter how many followers he had, but the public is no longer with him.
"Modi Ji's graph is now declining. It doesn't matter how many followers he has because his image has now fallen in the eyes of the public. In Varanasi, last time Modi Ji won by 5,00,000 votes, and this time only by 1,50,000 votes. This time, he received 65,000 fewer votes. The public is no longer favouring Modi Ji," Rai said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become the world's most followed leader in office, with over 100 million followers on the social media platform 'X'.
While comparing the followers of various Indian politicians on X, PM Modi stands out significantly in terms of numbers.
The Leader of Opposition (LoP), Rahul Gandhi has 26.4 million followers, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has 27.5 million, Samajwadi Party's Akhilesh Yadav has 19.9 million, and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has 7.4 million.
Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has 6.3 million, his son Tejashwi Yadav has 5.2 million followers, while NCP Chief Sharad Pawar has 2.9 million.
PM Modi is far ahead of other world leaders including US President Joe Biden, who currently has 38.1 million followers, HH Sheikh Mohammed, the present ruler of Dubai (11.2 million) and Pope Francis (18.5 million).
Further, launching a scathing attack on the BJP, Ajay Rai said that after losing the elections, they are now troubled.
"They did nothing about the promises they made to the public. Whenever they talked about jobs, every exam had paper leaks. They had the UP police exams conducted by people from Gujarat, who have now fled abroad," he said.
"Congress is a party that takes everyone along. It has always been the nature of the BJP to divide and rule. They have formed governments by breaking others. They broke their oldest ally, Shiv Sena. They turned the real into fake and the fake into real," he added.
The Uttar Pradesh Congress Chief also asserted that they have built strong relations with Akhilesh, which will continue to strengthen in the future.
Earlier, Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said that everyone will have to be active from now on for the Assembly by-elections to be held on 10 seats in the state and the 2027 Assembly elections.
