Los Angeles [US], June 23 : American actor and singer Drew Sidora is thinking about the end of her marriage to Ralph Pittman and what the future holds for them.
In an interview with PEOPLE, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star discusses her divorce from her ex-husband and the moment she realised there was no turning back.
"Of course, I was forever, but it was like there was nothing else left for me to hold onto because the behaviour and inappropriateness just never stopped," she said of her ex-husband, Ralph, to PEOPLE.
Sidora said, "Well, I stand by everything in the petition, and it was just a culmination of things that should not happen in a marriage. And I think the inability to own it, to apologise, to work through it, to care about my emotional state and want to work and heal that was very difficult."
Sidora made explosive allegations against her estranged partner in March, including that he was a serial cheater and adulterer who abused her mentally and financially and even became physically aggressive at one point.
According to Sidora, things reached a boiling point when some of their marital issues tarted to happen on camera and she began to feel embarrassment on top of what we were dealing with behind closed doors.
"It was the breaking point, and enough is enough," she admits. "And I wasn't expecting that. Of course, I was forever, but it was as if there was nothing else for me to hold onto because the inappropriate behaviour never stopped. It was simply too much."
Despite the nature of her allegations, the Step Up actress says she is hopeful for an amicable divorce.
"I'm hoping to find an excellent co-parenting partner." "I'm hoping that we can come out of this being friends and respectful," she says. "I just want my kids to be happy and to see what life has in store for me on the other side of this."
When news of their divorce broke, Pittman gave PEOPLE an exclusive statement about the end of his marriage.
"Love is a beautiful thing," he wrote back then. "Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to move on to our next chapters separately." Drew and I have made the decision to divorce. We have three wonderful young children, and their mindset and development are the most important. Please respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult period."
Sidora later told PEOPLE about her own statement. "After eight years of fighting wholeheartedly for my marriage, I have made the agonising decision to release my husband with love," she said.
She added, "Although Ralph and I have decided to move forward separately, the hope is to remain friends so that we can co-parent responsibly. In spite of our very public life, I am asking for privacy during this difficult time as my children and I learn how to navigate through our new beginnings."
