Duleep Trophy: Iyer, Bhui help India D to maintain dominance over India B on Day 3

Anantapur (Andhra Pradesh) [India], September 21 : Ricky Bhui and Shreyas Iyer on Saturday helped India D maintain dominance over India B on Day 3 of the Duleep Trophy 2024 in Anantapur.
India B resumed the day on 210/6 and stretched to a total of 282 with the help of Washington Sundar's 87 from 140 balls. India D's Saurabh Kumar picked up all four wickets to fall in the day finishing with figures of 5 for 73.
India D had a sloppy start of their second inning after Navdeep Saini and Mukesh Kumar picked up quick wickets to remove Devdutt Padikkal (3), Srikar Bharat (2), and Nishant Sindhu (5).
It was Shreyas Iyer who held the inning after scoring a quick fifty from 40 balls at a strike rate of 125. However, Iyer's knock came to an end in the 14th over after Mukesh removed him from the crease. The fifth wicket came when Mukesh Kumar dismissed Sanju Samson in the 31st over.
At day three stumps, Ricky Bhui (90*) and Akash Sengupta (28*) stayed unbeaten on the crease and gave India D a lead by 311 runs over India B.
Presently, India B holds second place on the points table and are hoping neither India C nor India A can win their respective games, which will help them to seal the prestigious Duleep Trophy.
Meanwhile, in the other match of the Duleep Trophy, Riyan Parag and Shashwat Rawat put India A back in game against India C on the third day of the final round of the domestic tournament.
After taking a 63-run lead, fifties from Parag (73) and Rawat (53) helped India A increase their lead to 333 at stumps with four wickets remaining.
Parag-Rawat made a crucial 105-run partnership for the fourth wicket. It was also Parag's maiden half-century of the tournament.
Parag's knock came to an end after Gaurav Yadav dismissed him in the 49th over. While, Manav Suthar ended Rawat's knock after picking up his wicket in the 52nd over.
Anshul Kamboj is leadin the India C bowling attack in the second inning after he bagged two wickets, giving just 52 runs at an economy rate of 3.20.
India A's Kumar Kushagra (40*) and Tanush Kotian (13*) are unbeaten on the crease after the end of the day three stumps, giving their side a 333-run lead over India C.
At the Duleep Trophy standings, India A are at third place and are desperately in search of a win to clinch the Duleep Trophy.
