"Entire North East has been witnessing a new era of peace," says Tripura CM Saha

New Delhi [India], September 5 : Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha called the signing of a Memorandum of Settlement between the Centre, state government, and the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT), All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF), "a historic moment."
The Memorandum of Settlement was signed in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Tripura Chief Saha among others on Wednesday.
"A historic moment for Tripura! Under the visionary leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji and benevolent guidance of Hon'ble Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShah Ji, the entire North East has been witnessing a new era of peace, prosperity and goodwill. A historic memorandum of settlement has been signed today between the Government of India, the Government of Tripura, and representatives of NLFT & ATTF in the presence of Hon'ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji in New Delhi. Various groups of NLFT and ATTF have decided to join the mainstream for participation in the development journey spearheaded by our Hon'ble Prime Minister. Glad to have witnessed this historic moment. On behalf of the people of Tripura, I also express my heartfelt gratitude to Hon'ble Prime Minister and Hon'ble Home Minister for earmarking Rs. 250 crore for the welfare of the returnees," the CM posted on X.
After signing the Memorandum of Settlement, Shah said that ever since Prime Minister, Narendra Modi assumed power of office, he had, through peace and dialogue, developed the northeast region.
"...This is a matter of joy for all of us that after the struggle that was ongoing for 35 years, you (armed groups) have given up weapons and joined the mainstream and expressed your commitment towards the development of the entire Tripura. Ever since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister of the country, through peace and dialogue, he developed the Northeast," Shah said.
Shah said that with the signing of the peace pact, more than 300 armed cadres are set to join the mainstream.
