"Even if I have to go to jail 10 times...": Arrested former Cong MLA Kulbir Singh Zira threatens to expose "illicit mining and drug trade"

Firozpur (Punjab) [India], October 17 : The Congress's former MLA Kulbir Singh Zira, who was arrested on Tuesday morning for allegedly obstructing officials from performing their official duties, said he would expose the "illicit mining and drug trade with evidence" once he is out of jail.
Speaking to ANI after his arrest on Tuesday, the Congress leader said, "Once out of jail, I will expose the illicit mining and drug trade with evidence."
"AAP MLA Naresh Kataria was distributing fake certificates of the plot. I had demanded that a case be filed against him. I will soon move the high court, seeking the registration of a formal complaint against the MLA. The AAP government is fooling the people. Even if I have to go to jail 10 times fighting for the people, I will."
Zira sat on a dharna inside the BDPO office in Zira town, allegedly disrupting government officials from performing their duties.
For the last three days, the Congress's former MLA, along with his colleagues, had been sitting on a dharna inside the BDPO office in Zira town of Firozpur.
The Block Development and Panchayati Officer wrote to Zira police station, seeking action against him.
The police arrested Zira from his residence on Tuesday and booked him under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
He was remanded to judicial custody by the Duty Magistrate till October 31.
He is currently lodged in Firozpur Central Jail.
