New Delhi [India], June 8 : Taking a swipe at Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Rajendra Shukla, Madhya Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister on Saturday said that former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister is feeling "good" as his party has won some seats in the recently concluded Lok Sabha election including his family members who have become Parliamentarians.
After Jawaharlal Nehru, Narendra Modi will be the second person who will take oath as Prime Minister for the third consecutive time."
Rajendra Shukla also said that the citizens of the country want to see Narendra Modi take oath as Prime Minister for the third time. "There is a lot of enthusiasm among the people. People want to see Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister for the third time... After Jawaharlal Nehru, Narendra Modi will be the second person who will take oath as Prime Minister for the third consecutive time."
The Madhya Pradesh deputy CM also criticised SP's Akhilesh Yadav for his statement that negative politics has ended, and an era of positive politics has begun. Shukla said, "Till now, his seats were so low that he saw everything negative. Now that they have got some seats, everything is looking good for them. His family members became MPs, his wife became MP..."
He added further, "The people doing self-centred politics are also happy this time and we have no problem with their happiness."
Rebutting claims by the opposition that the BJP-led NDA government will not be able to run for a long time, Shukla said, "Due to his (Narendra Modi) leadership quality, in the coming years, his running of the coalition government will be seen as an example of how efficiently and better the government has been run."
Asserting that the NDA partners are with Narendra Modi, Shukla said, "Narendra Modi will run this country in a better way in the coming five years and all the people of the NDA alliance are with him."
Rajendra Shukla also took a jibe at Chhattisgarh's former Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel and targeted him for his statement that there would be mid-term elections. Shukla said, "In the previous days, Bhupesh Baghel had lost the Vidhan Sabha elections. And now he has also lost the Lok Sabha elections. And at present, whatever he is saying doesn't matter."
He added, "They are happy with the fact that earlier, they used to win 40-50 seats but this time, they won 90-95 seats. These people are very happy from within because of this. All these statements are made in excitement and are far away from reality."
Notably, Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi and other members of the new council of ministers will take oath in a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on June 9.
"The President will administer the oath of office and secrecy to the Prime Minister and other members of the Union Council of Ministers at 7.15 pm on June 09, 2024, at Rashtrapati Bhavan," Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a post on X on June 7.
