New Delhi [India], February 17 : Union Minister of State for Entrepreneurship Rajeev Chandrasekhar strained guns at Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter Veena Vijayan after her company Exalogic approached the Karnataka High Court to prevent the SFIO investigation on Friday.
The Karnataka High Court dismissed the Kerala chief minister's daughter Veena Vijayan's plea against the SFIO probe in connection with the monthly wage case.
"The Karnataka High Court today responded to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter's company - Exalogic - who had approached the Court to prevent the SFIO investigation. As I have repeatedly said before, there is absolutely no difference now between the CPI(M) Government and the Congress in Kerala...The knowledge and technology from Congress have been transferred to the CPI(M), and it seems that is their partner in the INDI Alliance," Chandrasekhar told ANI.
He further said that he is glad that the Court has intervened and allowed the investigation to continue.
Meanwhile, Union Minister V Muraleedharan said that the corrupt can't raise the boggy harassment of the central agencies and escape.
"This brings out the fact that those people who are corrupt, are looting the public exchequer. They try to raise the boggy of harassment of the central agencies when this corruption is caught. So this is a clear case of such an incident. The chief minister's daughter takes a bribe of Rs 1.75 crores. She is unable to produce any documents for what purpose this money was taken and approaches the court asking the court to put a break on the investigation that is happening. The court says the investigation can go on. So this brings out the fact that the corrupt can't raise the boggy of harassment of the central agencies and escape. So this harassment theory has fallen flat," Muraleedharan said.
"They should apologize to the people of Kerala for raising such false allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government," he added.
Earlier on February 6, SFIO (Serious Fraud Investigation Office) officials started the probe into the alleged payments made by Cochin Minerals and Rutiles Ltd (CMRL) to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter.
The allegation is that Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter Veena's company, Exalogic Solutions Pvt Ltd collected money from CMRL without providing any services.
SFIO officials have been inspecting the corporate office of CMRL in Aluva, Ernakulam.
According to sources, the officials reportedly checked the documents related to the alleged pay-offs made by the company to Veena and Exalogic Solutions.
The SFIO had formed an investigation team after the Centre ordered for a probe.
Earlier, Minister of State V Muraleedharan claimed that the Kerala Chief Minister's daughter's company was not able to produce any evidence for Exalogic Solutions providing service to Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL).
The Kerala CM rejected allegations against his daughter Veena and her firm Exalogic Solutions of allegedly receiving "illegal payment" from Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) and said these were legal business deals.
