"FM has been able to bring out confident India story through Budget": Union Minister Piyush Goyal

New Delhi [India], February 1 : Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday hailed the Union Budget-2024 presented this morning by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, saying that she has been able to bring out a confident India story.
Speaking to ANI exclusively, the Union Minister dubbed the Budget an 'inclusive' one and said that every section of society has received due attention in it.
"It is remarkable that Finance Minister Sitharamanji, in her interim budget, has been able to bring out a confident India story. A story of resilience despite severe geopolitical tensions. A story of growth and forward movement that will make India a developed nation by 2047. A story that talks about every section of society. Be it our youth, farmers, poor, or women. Every section has received due attention. It's very progressive, very forward-looking and lays the foundation of a prosperous India..." he said.
Goyal further said that his government has used the last ten years to empower every individual in the country with all the basic needs of life.
"PM Modi has always believed that when we strengthen the common man's ability to contribute to the national economy, the country will go forward faster... We have used the last ten years to empower every individual in the country with all the basic needs of life so that they can be aspirational for the future and they can contribute to a developed India," the union minister said.
Lauding further the Budget, he said that it is a visionary one.
"Today, the finance minister has given us the roadmap of how 140 crore Indians will contribute to making India a developed nation and taking prosperity to the last man at the bottom of the pyramid... It is a budget which along with continuity also is visionary," he added.
The central government announced a slew of measures for the promotion of green growth and renewable energy while tabling the Interim Budget 2024-2025 in Parliament on Thursday.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in her Budget speech today, said that through rooftop solarization, one crore households will be enabled to obtain up to 300 units of free electricity every month.
The Budget Session of Parliament commenced on Wednesday with President Droupadi Murmu addressing a joint sitting of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
The Indian economy is projected to grow close to 7 per cent in the financial year 2024-25 which starts this April, said the Ministry of Finance in a review report.
India's economy grew 7.2 per cent in 2022-23 and 8.7 per cent in 2021-22. The Indian economy is expected to grow 7.3 per cent in the current financial year 2023-24, remaining the fastest-growing major economy.
