Former Karnataka CM Kumaraswamy thanks people of Mandya after being inducted in PM Modi's cabinet

New Delhi [India], June 9 : After taking oath as Union Minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet on Sunday, Janata Dal (Secular) leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy thanked the people of Mandya Lok Sabha constituency.
Taking to X he shared, "I have taken oath as a Cabinet Minister in the NDA Government led by Hon'ble PM Narendra Modi. I extend my respectful thanks to Hon'ble President Droupadi Murmu for administering the oath. I also thank the citizens of the Mandya Lok Sabha constituency, the people of Karnataka, and the cadres of the JDS and BJP parties for giving me the opportunity to serve the country."
He was the first among the BJP's partners to take oath of office and secrecy.
Kumaraswamy took oath of office after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several senior BJP leaders including Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari and JP Nadda had taken oath of office.
Janata Dal (Secular) JD(S) won only two seats in the Lok Sabha polls.
BJP-led National Democratic Alliance has won its third succesive term in Lok Sabha polls. The NDA won 293 seats in the Lok Sabha polls with BJP getting 240 seats.
