Jun 21, 2024
New Delhi [India], June 22 : Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday came down heavily on the Bharatiya Janata Party government over the NEET paper leak issue and said that under the rule of BJP, the future of two crore youth has been ruined in last seven years adding that Congress will raise the voice of the youth strongly.
"In BJP rule, the education mafia has a free hand in corruption. In 7 years, 70 papers have been leaked and the future of 2 crore youth has been ruined. The NEET exam paper leak scam is a symbol of the utter apathy of the Modi government towards the youth. Today Congress held a protest across the country. Congress will raise the voice of the youth strongly," Kharge posted on X.
Amidst irregularities surrounding the medical entrance exam National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate 2024 (NEET-UG), the Congress on Friday held protests across the nation.
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi asked if at least now the accountability be decided.
"The laxity and corruption of the BJP government is fatal for the youth. After the news of the scam in the NEET exam, now the NET exam held on June 18 has also been cancelled due to the fear of irregularities," Priyanka said in a post on X.
"Will accountability be fixed now? Will the education minister take responsibility for this lax system?" she said.
The Supreme Court on Friday again declined to stay the process of counselling in the NEET-UG 2024 and has issued a notice to the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the examination.
A vacation bench of Justices Vikram Nath and SVN Bhatti of the apex court has tagged the fresh pleas along with pending petitions and posted them for hearing on July 8.
On Thursday, the top court issued a notice on a plea filed by the NTA seeking the transfer of petitions relating to the NEET-UG, 2024 examination from the High Courts to the apex court.

The Supreme Court has posted the pleas for hearing on July 8.
The NEET-UG 2024 exam was conducted on May 5 and its results were declared on June 4, ahead of its scheduled announcement date of June 14.
