Game-changing Budget combines Bharat's economic growth with torque of its youth power: Amit Shah

New Delhi [India], July 23 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said the Union Budget 2024-25 is game-changing and will go down in history for coupling Bharat's economic growth with the torque of its youth power.
He also lauded the government's decision to provide training and internship programmes to youth.
In a post on social media X, Union Minister Amit Shah wrote, "The Budget 2024-25 will go down in history for coupling Bharat's economic growth with the torque of the nation's youth power. It provides for a massive fund of Rs 2 lakh crore to train 4.10 crore youth in a wide range of skills while envisioning another game-changing move of providing world-class training to 1 crore youth through internships in top 500 companies."
The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal welcomed the Union Budget 2024 laid before Parliament on Tuesday.
Calling the Union Budget 2024 a 'visionary document', Sonowal said, "The Union Budget, 2024 lays the roadmap for renewed and holistic growth towards Viksit Bharat. This visionary budget is aimed at empowering the 'Garib' (poor), 'Mahilayen' (women), 'Yuva' (youth), and Annadata' (farmers) so that the process of development reaches every citizen of the country."
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Tuesday that Union Budget 2024 stands out for its unprecedented push towards employment generation and powering small businesses.
"Schemes such as PM's Package for Employment & Skilling, 1 crore paid internship opportunities and employment-linked incentives will be game changers. My compliments to Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her team for presenting a budget that lays down a solid road map to maintain India's growth momentum and seeks to propel our economy to the world's third largest, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi," CM Himanta wrote on X.
Union Minister for Steel and Heavy Industries, HD Kumaraswamy, congratulated Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday for presenting the budget for the seventh consecutive time.
In a series of posts on X, HD Kumaraswamy said, "This Nari Shakti Budget aims to empower the Hon'ble Prime Minister Mr. @narendramodi's vision of a 'Developed India' and significantly benefit women. Nine priority areas have been identified, with Rs1.48 lakh crore allocated for education, employment, and skills development. The goal is to create 4 crore jobs, ensuring better utilization of human resources. This budget includes initiatives to financially empower small and medium-scale industries, which play a crucial role in generating employment."
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday said that the 2024-25 budget includes provisions to simplify tax rates, reduce taxes, and help middle-class families fulfil their dream of owning a home.
"(Provision is made in this budget) for simplifying tax rate, working on reducing the tax rate, and fulfilling the biggest dream of middle-class families to build their own house," he told ANI.
He also said that the budget also has provision of Rs 2 lakh crore to create employment opportunities.
"Today's budget has a very important provision of Rs 2 lakh crore to create employment opportunities. How youth can get new employment through internships. How to involve more and more people in the manufacturing sector and get more and more employment for people is given an important place in today's budget," Vaishnaw told ANI.
Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal on Tuesday said that the Budget 2024-25 reflects the budget for New India and the nine priorities figured out by the Finance Minister will ensure that country becomes the third-largest economy in the world.
He added that the innovative and inclusive Budget will help take the country towards a developed nation by 2047.
"If you ask me, this budget lays a clear roadmap, given the nine priorities on which the finance minister has focused, to set the country on a fast trajectory to help our youth through skill development and employment initiatives. Ensure that this becomes the third-largest economy in the world. Make us more competitive both within the country and across the world, thereby promoting manufacturing, promoting the services sector, and promoting tourism," he said.
The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry added that the Budget 2024-25 lays a clear roadmap, to set the country on a fast trajectory to help our youth through skill development and employment initiatives.
"I think this is a budget for new India. It is taking India in the Amrit Kal rapidly, progressing towards a developed nation by 2047. It is not only impactful, it is both innovative and inclusive," Goyal told ANI.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented her record seventh consecutive Union Budget 2024-25 on Tuesday during the Budget Session of Parliament. She makes history as the first finance minister to present seven consecutive budget speeches, surpassing former Prime Minister Morarji Desai's record of six consecutive budgets as finance minister between 1959 and 1964.
FM Sitharaman, in her seventh consecutive Union Budget for 2024-25, outlined key priorities aimed at fostering economic growth and creating ample opportunities. The priorities include Productivity and Resilience in Agriculture, Employment and Skilling and services.
