"Govt conducting statewide survey for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana": Odisha Minister Rabi Narayan Naik

Bhubaneshwar (Odisha) [India], December 6 : Odisha Minister Rabi Narayan Naik said that the state government is conducting a state-wide survey for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana after which the houses will be provided to beneficiaries accordingly.
He added that there are a total of 10 criteria under which the survey is being conducted.
Speaking to ANI, Rabi Narayan Naik said on Thursday, "For Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, we are conducting the survey, our criteria has 10 things included. Initially, we have created awareness in every panchayat... we have told people about the survey...we have launched a mobile app, the details of the poor will be uploaded in it...specially-abled people and widows will be included as well...salaries of the people also will be considered... In this way, the department will get the list in two months. After that, the department will conduct a survey again.... After that arrangements will be made to provide Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana..."
Earlier in November, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami lauded the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana' and said the scheme is providing shelter to lakhs of homeless families, a press release stated.
Pointing that thousands of people have got pucca houses under the scheme in Uttarakhand, CM Dhami said the state government is also providing assistance along with the Centre.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Housing for All (Urban), more than 34 thousand houses have been built in Uttarakhand so far. The state government has also signed a contract with the Centre for the second phase of the scheme, in which the beneficiaries will be able to get more financial grants, the release stated.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Housing for All (Urban), housing is provided to all the homeless families living in the urban area. A subsidy/grant is provided for housing construction under four components to homeless families with annual incomes ranging from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 18 lakh.
To achieve the objective of "Housing for All" in rural areas, the Government of India had launched the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana -Gramin (PMAY-G) with effect from April 2016 with a target of construction of 2.95 crore houses with basic amenities.
