"Govt working with mantra of inclusive development": Uttarakhand CM Dhami greets on eve of 78th Independence Day

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], August 14 : Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday greeted the people of the state on the eve of the 78th Independence Day of the country and also paid tribute to the freedom fighters and soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation, stated an official release.
The Chief Minister said, "It is our resolve to make Uttarakhand the best and leading state of the country in every field. Our efforts are continuing to make Uttarakhand prosperous and self-reliant. Due to favourable industrial policy, calm industrial environment, skilled human resources, liberal tax benefits and an increase in capital investment, Uttarakhand has become one of the fastest-developing states in India."
In the 2023-24 SDG report released by NITI Aayog, Government of India, Uttarakhand has met the criteria of Sustainable Development Goals and secured the first position in the whole country.
"During the Uttarakhand Global Investor Summit-2023 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a total investment agreement of Rs 3.5 lakh crore has been signed with the state government, in which the agreement of Rs 81 thousand crore has been grounded," he added.
The Chief Minister said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, work is being done rapidly on schemes worth about 2 lakh crore in Uttarakhand. Due to the efforts of the state government, Uttarakhand is also rapidly emerging as a tourism hub, adventure tourism hub, and film shooting destination.
"For this, new policies have been prepared to promote industry and tourism. With the construction of Delhi Dehradun Elevated Road and Vande Bharat Express, Dehradun will soon become a part of Delhi NCR, which will provide new opportunities for investment, development of industries, and employment here," added CM Dhami.
Dhami said that the state government is working with the balanced and equal development of all the areas of the state with the basic mantra of inclusive development. Work is being done on the action plan of the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission to make the mythological temples of Kumaon grand on the lines of Kedarnath and Badrinath. For the connectivity of four Dhams, the construction work of All Weather Road, Rishikesh-Karnprayag Rail Line is going on rapidly while the work of Tanakpur-Bageshwar Rail Line Survey is in progress.
"The work of developing Jolly Grant Airport and Pantnagar Airport as international airports is also in progress. Parvat Mala Project has also been approved for the construction of a ropeway network in mountainous areas. The foundation stone has been laid for the construction of Shri Kedarnath, Hemkund Sahib and Purnagiri Temple Ropeway. The construction work of the AIIMS satellite center in the Kichha area of Udham Singh Nagar is in progress and under the Vibrant Village Scheme, work is being done rapidly on the all-round development of the border villages of the state," said the Uttarakhand CM.
Pushkar Singh Dhami also said that respect for women's power has been our tradition. The women of the state have played a significant role in the state formation movement and the subsequent development and progress of the state. "Even today, women's power in the state is the backbone of rural life, the economy, social and cultural fabric."
To empower women economically, loans up to Rs 5 lakh are being given to women's self-help groups under the Lakhpati Didi scheme without interest. A target has been set to make 1.25 lakh women Lakhpati Didis by 2025. 30 per cent horizontal reservation has been implemented for women in government jobs. The honorarium of the Anganwadi sisters has been increased. Under the Antyodaya Free Gas Refill Scheme, 3 gas cylinder refills are being given free in a year, added the official statement.
The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand has played a significant role in this golden journey of India. Uttarakhand is not only Devbhoomi but also Veerbhoomi. We are proud of our military tradition and patriotic legacy. In Veerbhoomi Uttarakhand, which has a military tradition, for generations, heroes and heroines from almost every family have been contributing to the defence of the country.
"The state government has constructed Shaurya Sthal in Dehradun in honour of the martyred soldiers. The ex-gratia grant given to martyred soldiers in the state has been increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 50 lakh. One member of the family of martyred soldiers is being accommodated in a government job," said Dhami.
