"Great achievement to promote tourism...": Odisha DyCM on Pravasi Bharatiya Divas

Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], January 8 : Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said on Wednesday that the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is a great achievement for the state to promote tourism in the world.
Speaking to ANI, Parida emphasized that this time the tourism sector will shine in the world.
"We are fortunate that tourism has been discussed here on the first day of the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas... I think this Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is a great achievement for us to promote tourism in the world. This time the tourism sector will shine in the world," she said.
Speaking on the Pravasi Divas, G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant said, "If we can use the inherent strength of Odisha in terms of its temple architecture, unique crafts and crafts villages, this can be the finest destination in the world. You need to create experiences around it...Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is a great occasion if we can get 150 NRI entrepreneurs to come to Odisha to create boutique resorts and experiences here...We have reached the stage of our growth where we should not do anything number 2 but aim for the world's best."
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 18th Pravasi Bhartiya Divas (PBD) convention at Bhubaneswar, Odisha on January 9 at 10 AM.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention is the flagship event of the Government of India that provides an important platform to connect and engage with the Indian diaspora and enable them to interact with each other. The 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention is being organized in partnership with the State Government of Odisha from January 8 to 10 in Bhubaneswar.
The theme of this PBD Convention is "Diaspora's Contribution to a Viksit Bharat". A large number of Indian diaspora members from over 50 different countries have registered to participate in the PBD Convention.
Prime Minister will remotely flag off the inaugural journey of the Pravasi Bharatiya Express, a special Tourist Train for the Indian diaspora, which will depart from the Nizamuddin Railway Station in Delhi and will travel to multiple destinations of tourism and religious importance in India for a period of three weeks.
The Pravasi Bharatiya Express will be conducted under the 'Pravasi Teertha Darshan Yojana'.
