Gujarat: BSF recovers 10 packets of suspected drugs off Jakhau Coast in Bhuj

Bhuj (Gujarat) [India], June 22 : The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered 10 packets of suspected drugs from an isolated island off the Jakhau coast in Gujarat's Bhuj.
"In a search operation, BSF recovered 10 packets of suspected drugs from an isolated island off Jakhau Coast in Bhuj", said the BSF in a statement.
A total of 139 packets of suspected drugs have been recovered by the BSF in the past eight days off the Jakhau coast, it added.
The BSF further said, "Isolated islands off the Coast and Creek area are being intensively searched by the BSF."
Earlier today, the Border Security Force (BSF) has recovered a China-made drone along with a pistol in Punjab's Ferozepur district.
The drone that was recovered has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic- 3 Classic.
"On June 22, 2024, the BSF intelligence wing shared information regarding the presence of a drone with a suspected packet in the border area of district Ferozepur. In prompt response, the BSF troops rushed to the spot and carried out an extensive search operation," an official press release said.
The packet was wrapped in yellow coloured adhesive tape and a metal ring with a small plastic torch was also found attached to it. Upon inspection of the packet, one pistol (without a barrel) and an empty pistol magazine were found inside.
Meanwhile, a joint operation by the BSF and Punjab Police led to the recovery of a Pakistani drone along with Heroin on Saturday.
Taking to its official X handle, the BSF Punjab said, "On June 22, 2024, based on information from BSF intelligence wing about the presence of a drone with narcotics in the border area of district Fazilka, BSF troops in collaboration with Punjab Police carried out a search operation in the suspected area."
